Iris West is a journalist in training. Barry Allen is the Flash (a.k.a The Red Streak). They grew up together after Barry's mother was murdered and Barry's father was convincted for her murder. Friendship; they are each other's best friends, they have a deep bond. Family;it's difficult for Barry to explain what he feels for Iris, she's the only family he had, but it runs so much deeper and Barry is just discovering that. Iris on the other hand is oblivious and fails to see what is right in front of her face.

After being hit by a lightning, Barry develops powers, now he is protecting the city from others like him, as the mysterious known as the R e d S t r e a k this will only further develop and complicate his relationship with Iris as her pursuit of journalism and the Streak will pull her closer to him but into danger.

Barry will work overtime alongside Iris's protective father (Joe), to keep his secret from Iris. Howeverwith Iris's inquistive nature and fasination with the impossible. She is determined to pursue the Flash.

Anyone else thinking that if we get a Westallen love confession, or a real un-erased E1 kiss in the Season finale, the episode will end with Barry/Iris being forcibly separated, and Barry getting trapped somewhere going into Season 3?

I'm thinking the same thing too. Maybe Barry ends up trapped in the speed force while fighting Zoom. Zoom is gone but Barry has to find his way home to Iris.

yup, this is what i expect to happen. and then the writers will use that to create angst between them next season. they'll eventually be together towards the end of s3. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

i could see that happening.

another possibility is that Zoom does something to Iris after she tells Barry she loves him. then maybe she's in a coma for six months or something, and wakes up at the beginning of next season. maybe she could even sacrifice herself in some way, as some kind of grand gesture to prove on her side how much she loves him, after all this time waiting for her to realize her feelings.

some kind of separation over the hiatus is necessary, so that we can actually see the beginning of their relationship next season.

If there's a love confession/kiss in the finale they have to separate them somehow. They won't want to skip over the first months of their relationship.

I also hope they won't have Barry confess about their doppelgängers's marriage only for Iris to react shocked but not say anything about it until it's time for them to kiss. The last thing I want is for the writers to treat this revelation like Barry's love confession. I feel like Iris will have zero PoV, be a bit awkward and keep her distance, maybe date Scott while Barry pines and has heart-to-hearts with every single member of the cast. Then they'll add an episode a la Out of Time where Iris pours her heart to Barry and admits she's been thinking about him the whole time. We'll enjoy the moment but first we will have to suffer through five episodes of nothing. I hope they'll prove me wrong...

Well she didn't last season so I'm hoping she realizes she is in love with him and has being for a while. I think they should point it out that she wants to be with him not because of destiny but because she feels it in her heart that she loves him more than anything.
